Better Makers: The Music Institute of Chicago

The Music Institute of Chicago, the oldest community music school in Illinois and one of the three largest in the nation, dedicates itself to transforming lives through music education. The school welcomed nearly 400 guests to its 85th anniversary gala on May 11 at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, and raised more than $1 million.

Honorary Chairs for the event included Maestro Riccardo Muti and Yo-Yo Ma. Co-chairs were Susan and Richard P. Kiphart, Jim and Kay Mabie, Jane DiRenzo Piggott, and Cate and Rick Waddell.
