Better Makers: 2019 Lawn Ball Raises Over $475,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Educational Programs

On June 21, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Guild Board hosted its 15th Annual Lawn Ball in memory of one of its founders, Johnny McGovern, at the Saddle & Cycle Club

On this sunny day, guests were able to stroll through the beautiful outdoor area while enjoying each other’s company before heading inside to indulge on delicacies and participate in the paddle auction. The paddle auction featured items such as tickets to Chicago White Sox and Cubs games, as well as the chance to watch the Bulls or Blackhawks from the United Center Skybox.

The event raised over $475,000 and will be used to support the various youth programs the club offers. While the Boys & Girls Clubs’ programs are created to help youth cultivate skills ranging from STEM to leadership, the funds raised from the paddle auction will be entirely devoted to the Arts and Culture programs. There are a variety of art programs that will fit every interest, including ones that specifically focus on painting, photography, drama, and even lyricism.
