Lake County Haven Open House: August 6

On Saturday, August 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lake County Haven in Libertyville will open its doors to the community to introduce and educate local families about homelessness in Lake County.

Attendees will be able to walk through the shelter and see where the women and children supported by Lake County Haven live as well as meet current and former Lake County Haven residents. Lake County Haven staff will also be present to answer questions, debunk myths, and give facts on homelessness and how North Shore residents can help Lake County Haven achieve its mission.

Since 1992, Lake County Haven has provided shelter, housing, and professional services to over 750 people in Lake County, the majority being women and children. Lake County Haven’s mission is to empower homeless women and children to achieve permanent, independent living through long-term financial, employment, and domestic stability.
