Yul Brynner—rowr. It’s a musical classic, and Brynner’s signature role. And if you think it’s easy to dress the part, rumor has it that Kerr’s dresses for the shoot weighed 30 – 40 pounds each.

If dysfunctional family conflict is what makes the movie for you, then you’ll have a fine time with the Tenebaums. A superb cast and hilarious storytelling make for a great date night on the couch.

There’s always going to be a debate over which of Eddie Murphy’s movies from the 80s are funnier, but this one ranks somewhere close to the top. Guys—you can get your sweetheart those earrings, but I really think it’s the offer to cook dinner that sealed the deal.
