Places to Lunch

Carol asked.  Mibs answered.

Thanks to Carol for writing “Make It Better.net” to suggest that we include Places To Lunch as a sub-category. This was genius! Mibs (the Make It Better Staff) discussed this idea and we unanimously decided to develop a detailed listing as soon as possible.

In the meantime, here are some of our personal favorites (in no particular order) for where to lunch:

Cafe Buongiorno: Their side of mushrooms are to die for! Great soups, too!  Winnetka

California Pizza Kitchen: Yes, it has that franchise atmosphere, but the salads are amazing. If you’re watching calories, ask for their diet balsamic dressing and their mango or raspberry diet iced tea.
Skokie

Cheesecake Factory: Again, a franchise — but their salads make it worthwhile. Also love the Shrimp Summer Rolls.
Skokie

Convito Italiano: Featuring favorites from the Convito and Betise menus. Bonus: you can pick up dinner to go at their fab deli.  Wilmette

Jackie’s Bistro:  Sophisticated and oh so continental. Fabulous food.  Evanston

Little Ricky’s:  Best sweet potato fries ever. Nice atmosphere.  Winnetka

The Lucky Platter:  Down to earth, eclectic, and yummy. Great brunch fare.  Evanston

Neiman Marcus Café:  Especially fun when they are having a fashion show! The popovers and chicken salad are classics.  Northbrook

Rose’s Wheat-Free Bakery:  Healthy and soooo delicious. Who knew wheat-free could be this good?
Evanston

Royin Japanese Sushi Bar:  Good, fast, and inexpensive. Huge menu; great lunch specials.
Evanston

Southgate Café: Wonderful atmosphere and so grown up.
  Lake Forest

… and the list goes on from there… honestly, there were too many to include them all, so look for our new category “Ladies Lunch” soon!
