12 Chic Ways to Deck Your Halls

It’s that time of year again. Radio stations have holiday tunes on repeat and the streets are lined with twinkle lights. It’s time to decorate your home for the holidays. Swap that kitschy blow-up Santa and worn-out wreath for some of these oh-so-stylish seasonal décor ideas.

1. Welcome your guests to the dinner table with simple rustic place cards. Punch two small holes in the top of the card and string through a twig of fresh rosemary. It’s earthy, fresh and adds a lovely fragrance to the dining room.

2. For a modern twist on the classic holiday wreath, substitute sturdy green veggies like Brussels sprouts (seen here). Weave leaves into the wreath for more green in another texture.

3. Find two vases in the same shape but different sizes. Fill the smaller one with water and flowers. Then slip a filler like these chocolate coins for Hanukkah into the larger surrounding vase. It will look like your flowers are floating in chocolate! For Christmas, use gumdrops or mini candy canes to create the same effect.

6. Create a kid-friendly menorah from felt and adhere to the wall using painter’s tape. Glue Velcro onto the back of each “candle” and let your children add a candle to the menorah each night. You can also make a felt Christmas tree and let your child stick felt “ornaments” onto the tree.

7. Send your kids outside to gather up some pinecones. Then, jazz them up with a little sparkly paint and place them in a glass bowl or vase on a table—so simple and so pretty.
