The first comes from food and recipe aficionado, Julie C. Her recipe for Creepy Cake is sure to please the little ones (ok, the adults, too).
Creepy Cake
Make a cake mix of choice (or from scratch if you have the time or ambition) and bake in a 10″ x 13″ pan. Frost with chocolate icing. Sprinkle generously with Oreo crumbs. Take a few Milano cookies, write “R.I.P.” in icing on the top half of the cookie, and then stick into the Oreo “ground” to make a tasty, creepy cemetery. I’ve sometimes added marshmallow ghosts and gummy worms or insects. The kids love it.
Low-fat Chili
Chili is a Halloween tradition among a few of us at MakeItBetter.net, and Joan shares her recipe for Low-Calorie Chili. It’s perfect for the adults, or to give the kids a much-needed boost of protein after all that sugar.
