Send a little love note with your child’s lunch. Here are some ideas on what to send and what not to send.
Send
- A knock, knock joke
- A cartoon from the newspaper
- Your attempt at drawing the family dog saying “woof”
- Inspirational sports quote, especially good before a big game
- A compliment that reinforces a behavior he’s working on like: “You’re a super sock picker-upper. Thanks!”
- A note from Dad
- “I love you, Mom” (the best note ever)
Don’t Send
- A note that says you miss your child, especially those first few days of school
- Plastic dreck from a birthday party favor bag (the teacher will thank you)
- Anything negative, even if you’re trying to be funny
