As you may know, as of Jan. 1, 2024, Make It Better Media Group has become the Make It Better Foundation, with a mission to identify, support and promote the most impactful nonprofits in their sector, thereby accelerating efforts to make life, and the world, better.
Since our inception on May 1, 2007, Make It Better Media Group has carved a powerful niche through our unique blend of positive, problem-solving, community-building content and philanthropy. Our strategies emerged as powerful tools for nonprofits and other social entrepreneurs who collaborate with Make It Better.
We’re leaning into our longstanding, trusted reputation for vetting and promoting outstanding nonprofits, and donating significant grants along with our publishing platform to qualifying nonprofits. Our collaborations will help supercharge outstanding initiatives. You can learn more about our approach, the sectors we are championing, the tools and pillars underpinning our approach, and the types of content we are committed to continuing to create. How to Collaborate with Us
Your voice, ideas and engagement are important to help us accomplish our mission! We encourage you to share your ideas and efforts to make the world a better place by submitting a “You Said It,” similar to an Op-Ed, or a “Better Makers” post-event recap. While we welcome any communication from you, your message has the potential to be published if it complies with our “You Said It” or “Better Makers” guidelines.
Importantly, an excellent “You Said It” can earn a nonprofit that you champion a $1000 donation from the Make It Better Foundation and eligibility for greater engagement with Make It Better and our audience too.
Furthermore, an engaging “Better Makers” article will receive permanent placement online, authentically elevating to our affluent, engaged audience — and the rest of the world — the cause about which you are passionate.
‘You Said It’ — Share Your Passion with the World
“You Said It” submissions, as mentioned above, are similar to OpEds — written features which explain an issue and recommend solutions, using supporting information and images to support a call to action.
If you would like to submit a “You Said It” article for consideration please fill out this form. We ask that you support your message and statements with links and data from trusted resources like universities, nonprofits, government, and other media. We also request that you ask these organizations to support and share your submission.
‘Better Makers’ — Celebrate Successes and Champions
“Better Makers” articles are post-event recaps that showcase the essential highlights of your fundraising event, including event title, venue, date, funds raised, organization and event leadership, host committee members, emcee, celebrity appearances, honorees, entertainment, and major sponsors. Submissions should include all of this key information, along with engaging, high-quality photographs from the event.
A strong Better Makers submission should also highlight the mission and impact of the organization being supported, backed by research and data, with clear examples in the submission along with impactful photos showcasing the work of the organization. The submission should also include links to trusted resources like universities, other media, nonprofits, local government, or trusted brands as relevant. Finally, the submission should include information on how readers can get involved and join you in supporting the organization. You can view an example here.
Once we approve and publish your Better Makers submission on Better.net, we ask that you include a link to it from your website’s news/media/press page and share on your social platforms.
