Corazón Healdsburg is leading a community-based recovery effort for those impacted by the Kincade Fire. During the devastating fires, Corazón Healdsburg was on hand throughout the Bay Area providing support to displaced victims. They need your support in providing fire victims with immediate financial support and long term recovery funds. They were on the ground at the Healdsburg evacuation shelter when the Kincade fire first began, and have already begun providing gift cards for food and other necessities as well as hotel vouchers and a range of support services to help our families cope and recover. 100% of all donations to their Unity & Community Fund will immediately be directed to supporting these families.

Corazón Healdsburg works to bridge the racial and economic divide in Northern Sonoma County. The nonprofit offers programs to improve health and wellbeing for all who live and work in the area through innovative partnerships and community driven programming. Working with youth and their families, Corazón aims to break cycles of poverty and improve quality of life for those they serve.

The organization operates around three pillars. With Comunidad, they create dynamic cultural events for community members to gather together under the mutual language of celebration, food, and dance, such as with their Dia De Lost Muertos celebration, which has been postponed due to the fires. With La Voz, they work to strengthen the Latino voice in Healdsburg, ensuring that resident opinions, needs and desires are heard by the community at large. Lastly, the Casa del Corazon Family Resource Center serves as a hub for Corazón programs and a drop-in center for residents to seek assistance from bilingual staff, helping the community with legal, housing and immigration issues and more. Under these pillars, Corazón offers programs like Moms to Moms Prenatal Education, which helps expecting mothers to prepare for parenthood while bringing together members of the community under the common theme of motherhood, or their Adult Education program, which increases English fluency and educational attainment for adults in Healdsburg with English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and High School Equivalency preparation to obtain a high school diploma.

One supporter of the charity is Jack Steffen of the EACH Foundation, who began giving to Corazón in 2017 to help the victims of the Tubbs fire. Having been in the Sonoma County wine business for 40 years, he discovered Scopa Has A Dream and Corazón when he met founder Ari Rosen in 2010. Since then, with the support of our EACH Foundation President Lionel Shaw, he has continued to support Corazon’s FirstGen College Counseling, which helps prepare historically underserved Healdsburg high school students to become the first in their families to complete college through comprehensive one-on-one support of the entire college application process. “Corazón supports the heartbeat of Sonoma County,” Steffen says.
