It’s the power of partnering in action.
Fundraising efforts by Bark 4 Care, a local non-profit organization focused on raising awareness and removing the stigma of biological brain disorders, is resulting in a $2,000 check for Erika’s Lighthouse, another local non-profit that raises awareness about adolescent depression.
Bark 4 Care will present the check this weekend during the Erika’s Lighthouse Rock & Rally Walkathon.
Denise Kaplan, founder of Bark 4 Care, says the donation to Erika’s Lighthouse is a perfect example of how everyone benefits when non-profits work together.
Bark 4 Care partnered with Make It Better’s e-mail subscription program last fall to raise money for their cause. The “Bust the Stigma” shopping fundraiser included encouraging shoppers to sign up for Make It Better’s Better Letter. For each new subscription, Bark 4 Care received $5 for their organization.
“Working with Make It Better means we can benefit organizations that support our mission,” says Denise. “It’s through your support that we’ve been able to spread the word and in turn support other non-profits. I think that kind of partnership is really amazing.”
