This weekend is full of spooky and festive events for all ages! Go trick-or-treating in an immersive pop-up experience inspired by childhood nostalgia, enjoy a pre-Halloween date night at Chicago’s newest speakeasy, and celebrate Chicago’s artists at the annual Arts in the Dark parade. Here are five of the best events to check out this weekend.
Oct. 29-31: Halloweek at HideSeek

This weekend, HideSeek, an immersive art experience with 15 multi-dimensional rooms, invites guests of all ages to trick-or-treat through each HideSeek room and collect nostalgic candy. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume, and prizes will be given to the best costumes of the night. General admission tickets are $35.00; children’s tickets (ages 4-12) are $27.00. Free admission to children under the age of 3. HideSeek also is offering a family pack bundle, in which guests can purchase two adult and two children’s tickets for $110.
Oct 30: Grand Cabaret After Dark
1132 W Grand Ave.
Enjoy an intimate evening of jazz, magic, and mystery at Chicago’s newest speakeasy. With the purchase of a $60 ticket, guests can look forward to dinner, live jazz, and a mysterious magic show from Mr. Jim Bergstrom.
Oct 30: Arts in the Dark
State St.
The annual Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade will return to State Street as the finale of the city’s Halloweek program. Now in its seventh year, this family-friendly parade has drawn thousands for a magical evening that celebrates Halloween as the “artist’s holiday” with unique floats, puppets, and creative performances.

BatFest is Batavia’s annual Halloween-themed event that includes downtown trick-or-treating, a craft booth, a parade, and more for a festive afternoon of free family fun.
Oct. 31: Día de los Muertos Celebration at the Maxwell Street Market
800 S. Desplaines St.
This Day of the Dead commemoration is a free event for all ages, featuring traditional arts and crafts, live music, dance, and more! This event will celebrate Día de los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday combining ancient Aztec rituals of remembering ancestors during “All Souls’ Day.” Costumes are encouraged.
