“The Skinny” on Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny is busy.

After “The Apprentice” and “The Real Housewives of New York City,” She got married, had a baby, skated into the finals of “Skating with the Stars,” created the Skinnygirl Margarita, became a New York Times bestselling author, started filming “Bethenny Ever After,” which premiers on Bravo on February 28th, and will wrap her Skinnygirl Night Out bus tour in March.

Before heading to her Waukegan and Joliet shows, Bethenny squeezed in a quick phone call.  She had just gotten baby Bryn down for a nap. When I asked how she balances everything, she answered with candor, “Like that ad says, I ‘just do it’ and try to get some sleep whenever I can.”

Highwood resident, Lara Ritchie enjoyed the Skinnygirl Night Out in Waukegan with her husband who surprised her with tickets that he won. Bethenny’s advice to not worry about living up to what others think resonated with Lara.

“Bethenny said she has a cleaning person come once a week and once this person leaves, her place is a mess. No matter what she tries to do, it is never in order. And she is fine with that; it is just who she is and it’s never going to change,” Ritchie recounts. “As someone who always has a messy house, I really appreciate someone saying they’ve accepted this imperfection and that it’s not a character flaw; it’s no big deal.”

Bethenny will dish out other great advice in her new book “A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want out of Life” (Simon & Schuster) scheduled for release on March 22nd.  Her first rule is FIND YOUR TRUTH: Dig deep inside and figure out what is authentic for you, not anybody else.

Bethenny, a natural food chef, who trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, offers another type of dish on her website: Low-fat mock-a-mole.
