Despite the weather, this weekend will feel like spring (and maybe remind you that summer is actually coming) thanks to two food and drink festivals in Chicago and Glenview. You can also hear from Northwestern alumni in Evanston, see The Second City Improv All-Stars in Winnetka and visit an exhibit on the disability rights movement at the Chicago History Museum.
A Day With Northwestern
Emmy Award winner Orbert Davis and CEO of 1871 Howard Tullman will lead a day of presentations from Northwestern alumni and faculty at this annual event. Topics to be discussed include economics, food and technology, and capital punishment.
Northshore Baconfest

April 9
Glenview
Local restaurants, including House 406, Nick’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill, Real Uraban BBQ and Taste on Chestnut, and grocery stores will serve their most creative bacon dishes with a side of live music at Wagner Farm.
River North Beer Fest
Choose from more than 50 drinks from breweries like Blue Moon, Crispin Cider, Goose Island, Heineken, Henry’s Hard Soda and Shock Top. You’ll also receive freebies from Uber, DoorDash, Sprig, UrbanLeash and more.
The Second City Improv All-Stars

April 9
Winnetka
See The Second City Improv All-Stars and support the Winnetka Community House at the same time. General Admission, Table of 4 and Table of 10 tickets, which include free drink tickets, appetizers and desserts, are still available, so grab some friends for a fun evening.
Access for All

Closes April 10
Chicago
Don’t miss the Access for All: Tom Olin’s Photographs of the Disability Rights Movement exhibit at Chicago History Museum before it closes on Sunday. For the first time, the Museum is offering a descriptive audio tour for visitors who have low-vision or are blind.
Looking Ahead
