A musical about Judy Garland makes its Chicago premiere this weekend while two festivals (one all about film and one all about mac and cheese) return to the area. Plus, there will be two ways to shop art, decor, jewelry and more both in the city and the suburbs.
Antiques + Modernism Show

This favorite annual show is back at the Winnetka Community House with furniture, art, clothes, jewelry and more from nationally recognized dealers. This year’s show will also host events with Alexa Hampton, India Hicks and Michael Del Piero. It all kicks off with a preview party Nov. 3.

Chicago’s longest-running art fair features more than 80 galleries from around the world at Navy Pier. In addition to browsing displayed art, guests can watch live glassmaking with the Corning Museum of Glass’ Hot Glass Roadshow, learn from leading experts during the Lecture Series and more.
“End of the Rainbow”

Chicago
Skokie resident Angela Ingersoll will star as Judy Garland in this comedic musical about Garland’s life and most famous songs at Porchlight Music Theatre. Previews begin Nov. 4 and the show closes Dec. 4.
Mac & Cheese Fest

Chicago
Chefs from restaurants around Chicago will come together to compete for best mac and cheese — and you’ll be able to sample all the cheesy goodness you possibly can. A portion of proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
Chicago International Children’s Film Festival
This is the final weekend of this family-friendly film festival and Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest will host three screenings on Saturday for various ages. Click here to learn more about the festival and find a complete schedule.
