Throwback Music Fest

Relive the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s at this brand new music festival. Kids will love the rock climbing wall, bouncy house, face painting, bean bag boards, and arts and crafts area.
Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

Sept. 10-11
Chicago
The 12th year of this festival will feature creations by more than 150 artists, including Diana Gonzalez of Wilmette and Peter Jablokow of Evanston. There will also be live music, a kids area, drinks and food, an interactive garden and more.
92nd Benefit and Annual Members’ Art Show

Opens Sept. 10
Winnetka
This North Shore Art League show will feature art by member artists and faculty and will be open to the public Sept. 10-17. The opening reception and benefit preview party will be Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Fall Family Festival

Glenview
During this Kohl Children’s Museum event, kids can visit the petting zoo, take a ride on the kiddie train or a horse-drawn wagon, participate in carnival games, meet Clifford the Big Red Dog and Snow White, make apple cider, try a new (temporary) hair color and explore the museum.
9/11 Heroes Run

Sept. 11

This national 5K series will be hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation, which “is dedicated to empowering our nation’s veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations” and named after Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion, who was killed in Iraq in 2007 while protecting his battalion. The race aims to unite communities around the country and remember those who lost their lives on 9/11 and honor those who serve our country. Register and/or donate here.
