It’s another fun-filled summer weekend on the North Shore.
Shop local merchants and rock out to live music at two popular summer events, or catch some beach volleyball action at a new event to hit the Chicago area.
And speaking of Chicago, there’s plenty going on in the city, too. If you’re looking for a relaxing day out, stop by the Green City Market for chef demonstrations and workshops. Or, Blake Shelton is heating things up in Wrigleyville.

Winnetka & Northfield Summer Sidewalk Sale

Winnetka and Northfield
This is one of the North Shore’s most popular sidewalk sales, and this year will include food trucks and a “kid-entrepreneur” section. When you’re done shopping on Saturday, head over to the Let Loose on Lincoln Block Party. (Make It Better is a sponsor of this event.)
EVP Rocks Rosemont

Catch some of the best beach volleyball teams at this EVP Beach Volleyball Tour event. Three-hundred tons of white silica sand have been delivered to MB Financial Park, and spectators can see all the action for free.
Vernon Hills Summer Celebration
July 18-20
Vernon Hills
Enjoy carnival rides, face painting, a petting zoo, bags tournament and food from local vendors. There will also be live music throughout the weekend, including a performance by Sister Hazel on Saturday. It all kicks off with fireworks on Thursday evening.

You’re probably not thinking about fall just yet, but if you have your own garden, you should be! RSVP today for a workshop on planting fall crops like carrots, turnips and beets, or take in a chef demonstration by Seedling Farms’ Peter Klein.

Wrigley Field has become quite the concert venue, and this year, the Friendly Confines are hosting Blake Shelton’s Ten Times Crazier Tour with The Band Perry, Dan + Shay and Neal McCoy.
