5 Things to Do: May 1-3

Hello, May!

This is a big month for Chicago, the host city for both the James Beard Awards (Monday, May 4) and the 2015 NFL Draft (this weekend!). If you don’t have tickets for the actual draft, catch all the action, as well as concerts, autograph signings and other activities, at the free fan festival in Grant Park.

Not a football fan? Support Bright Pink and pamper yourself at Westfield Old Orchard’s VIPink. Fashionistas also won’t want to miss goop’s Chicago pop-up shop.

And if you need some family time, take the kids to Touch a Truck and support a local museum, or visit one of the “Seven Wonders of Illinois”—the Bahá’í House of Worship—for the dedication of their new Welcome Center.

Here are five things to do this weekend:

Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop is now in Chicago—but only for a limited time. The “clicks to bricks outpost” is filled with items that were exclusively picked for our city. And keep an eye on goop’s social media to see when Gwyneth herself will be stopping by.
