Metra Train Stars in Movie “Source Code” with Jake Gyllenhaal

The movie “Source Code,” which comes out April 1 and was filmed in Chicago, features one of our favorite hotties riding a recognizable, if unofficial, local train.

According to Rich Moskal, director of the Chicago Film Office, the movie’s stars, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan, were in Chicago filming a small portion of the film last April. Vera Farmiga also stars in the film.

“He was everyone’s favorite. He drew a crowd,” Moskal says of Gyllenhaal. And, of course, we can understand why!

Filming locations included the “Cloud Gate” sculpture at Millennium Park, the bridge at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, Moskal says. There was also filming in some suburbs, including Skokie, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The sci-fi thriller tells the story of Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal), who is part of a government experiment to prevent a bombing on a Chicago train. He can enter the body of a man on the train, but only for the 8 minutes before the man is killed. He fails to prevent the attack, so he keeps repeating the mission.
