Lunch Box Notes for Kids

Send a little love note with your child’s lunch. Here are some ideas on what to send and what not to send.

Send

  • A knock, knock joke
  • A cartoon from the newspaper
  • Your attempt at drawing the family dog saying “woof”
  • Inspirational sports quote, especially good before a big game
  • A compliment that reinforces a behavior he’s working on like: “You’re a super sock picker-upper. Thanks!”
  • A note from Dad
  • “I love you, Mom” (the best note ever)

Don’t Send

  • A note that says you miss your child, especially those first few days of school
  • Plastic dreck from a birthday party favor bag (the teacher will thank you)
  • Anything negative, even if you’re trying to be funny
