No matter what the weather is, a fresh, well-fitting tee is always my go-to top of choice.
So with input from some of my favorite North Shore fashionistas, here are five perfect t-shirts.
Hanro: According to Ken Downing, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus, Hanro makes the best all around, go-to tee for women (and men!). “They dress up, dress down, are super soft and always look great!” The soft stretch cotton is the secret of the Superior Short Sleeve top’s success. $56, neimanmarcus.com
Lilla P: This high crew short sleeve tee for summer has an easy fit and flattering shape, hitting just at the waist. $40, B2 and Bett’s, Highland Park
Caslon: This line, exclusive to Nordstrom, produces one of the best quality tees you can buy for your money. The Perfect Scoop Tee maintains its shape and finish and can be layered or worn on its own without revealing too much. It also gets an A+ for length and keeping certain gluteal areas hidden. $22, nordstrom.com
Velvet: The Snoop Perfect Cap Sleeve Crew is extremely soft with a fitted—but not tight—silhouette. What makes this shirt a stand out is its arm length—just a touch longer than most, making those of us who are self-conscious about our upper arms more comfortable. $55, Three Sisters, Lake Forest
Parker Blue: Unbelievably soft, this almost tissue-like tee is great for layering but can also stand on its own, wash after wash. This brand also takes into account the lower waistlines on women’s pants these days, making sure their tees provide enough “coverage.” This brown, vertical stripe tie-dye shirt is sure to be a summer hit! $90, Neapolitan, Winnetka
