Donate to Golder College Prep and help mainly low-income students graduate and become first-generation college students!
Golder College Prep is a campus of the Noble Network of Charter Schools and serves 565 students from all 50 Chicago wards. Their student body is 89% low-income and 99% minority, and sponsors Nancy Golder Northrip of Long Grove and her mother Joan Golder of Winnetka are proud to announce that 99% of this year’s graduates were accepted into college. Golder’s Class of 2012 was awarded nearly 7 million dollars in scholarships, and 78% of the students will be first generation college students in the fall.
The Golder family is especially proud of the seventeen girls in teacher Tina Lulla’s advisory (see photo). These girls have spent four years becoming a family and completing various acts of community service together, traveling even as far as Nicaragua! The Golders were active participants in these girls’ lives, encouraging them to pursue their passions and arranging different opportunities for them to serve their communities and grow as individuals.
Want to make a difference in a student’s life? Golder College Prep is seeking donations for support scholarships for GCP alumni. These will help alumni purchase items such as textbooks, tickets home and software required for classes. Donations can be sent to:
