Quick and Easy: Peace Cord Bracelets

Everyone likes a new bracelet—especially when it helps to empower and support Afghan women in need. peacecordbracelet

Peace Cord bracelets were first launched in 2010 by ARZU, a not-for-profit which works to empower Afghan women through fair employment, literacy classes and more. The Peace Cord bracelet is their latest product and is woven from authentic military materials such as parachute cords and insignia dress uniform buttons. The bracelets are available for $15, as well as a line of military models with plastic fatigue uniform buttons for $10.

These bracelets allowed ARZU to train and employ 150 unskilled Afghan women. All net proceeds support ARZU’s programs as well as Spirit of America, an organization which raises money to fund humanitarian work performed by our ground troops.

These bracelets are also available in custom colors for teams, schools and other not-for-profits and are available wholesale to groups for $5. Two new models have recently been launched for the summer: the red, white and blue “Patriot” model and the “Neon” collection, which are both available for $10.
