The people who do the most good in our communities rarely have press agents.
Often, only a handful of people know the time and sacrifices these individuals make to defend our country, give children a chance to learn, save animals’ lives and more.
So for this issue, we asked our readers to tell us about the unsung heroes in their communities. Thank you for recommending veterans, business owners and volunteers. Some were embarrassed to be asked; all had to be convinced to let us tell their stories. But we want to say thank you to these remarkable individuals and to all the other unsung heroes who are making our world a better place.
