Better Makers: Instituto del Progreso Latino Raises $390,000 at 40th Anniversary Gala

On March 25, more than 600 people celebrated Instituto del Progreso Latino‘s 40th anniversary at Alta Cocina: A Spring Chef’s Gala, raising $390,000 to support programs and schools in Chicago’s southwest communities. The gala celebrates the contributions of Latino chefs in the Chicago dining industry and featured delicious tasting stations for guests to enjoy. Greeley and Hansen was the presenting sponsor, and the title sponsors were Allstate, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, BMO Harris Bank, Comcast, and JPMorgan Chase. Spirit Awardees Jorge Cazares and Alejandra Garza were honored for their accomplishments and commitment to community and to Instituto. Chef Alfonso Sotelo was also honored for his entrepreneurial spirit and success.
