OLE Health, a nonprofit community health center in Napa and Solano counties operating health centers in Napa, St. Helena, Calistoga and Fairfield, secured $520,000 in donations during its June 12 fundraiser, SALUD 2021. The nonprofit provides medical and dental care services to nearly 40,000 people per year, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured.

The annual Napa Valley fundraiser supports OLE Health’s outreach and mobile health programs as well as equipment and technology upgrades. The raised funds will also be used for ongoing efforts to provide education and outreach to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy as well as to administer vaccines to the community’s most vulnerable.

Historically, SALUD has involved a gala-style dinner for 300 people, but the non-profit realized that would not work during the pandemic. Instead, it designed 20 intimate vintner-hosted dinners at various locations around Napa Valley, including at notable wineries Darioush, Dalla Valle Vineyards, Chappellet, Opus One, Gargiulo Vineyards, Jones Family Vineyards plus others.

The dinners were accompanied by an online auction, featuring a collection of curated fine wine lots and experiences. The top package was a trip to Morocco with an exclusive stay at Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot in the Atlas Mountains.

Notable event attendees included Darioush and Shahpar Khaledi, Naoko Dalla Valle and Jeff and Valerie Gargiulo.
