To recognize people in the community for acts of great bravery, dedication and service, the American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois hosts the annual Heroes Breakfast.
Last year, the people who were honored at the Heroes Breakfast changed lives. The audience learned about a man who channeled his grief after losing his father by launching an organization to help give kids in need access to books, a couple who acted quickly to save a woman from potentially lethal violence during an evening walk in their neighborhood, and a man who collects thousands of life-saving units of blood at an annual blood drive he launched years ago.
Those honored at this event embody the mission at the American Red Cross: to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. These heroes have saved lives, created programs that serve others, and changed systems to strengthen the vulnerable. Since 2003, the American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois has celebrated nearly 170 extraordinary individuals who have made a personal commitment to creating safer and stronger communities and providing help when disaster strikes.
The Red Cross deeply values the impact individuals can make on each other’s lives because it is volunteers who make it possible to respond to back-to-back hurricanes, wildfires, and local home fires all at the same time. These volunteers are the heroes who roll up their sleeves when they get the call asking to deploy to the site of a disaster. They leave their families and their routines, and in some cases take unpaid vacation time, to volunteer for the Red Cross. But, heroes are everywhere.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship levels start at the $5,000 level and each offers a variety of benefits, including significant exposure before and during the event as well as networking opportunities at the event. All levels offer at least one table of 10 to attend the event.
