Kids will love kiddie train rides around the museum’s outdoor Habitat Park exhibit, a children’s concert with Wendy & DB and Geoff “The Bass,” appearances by Elsa and Anna of “Frozen” and Paddington, and more family-friendly fun.

River Roast will begin a series of cooking classes on Jan. 20 when Chef Tony Mantuano and Executive Chef John Hogan will share tips, tricks, and recipes for braised meats. Then, on Feb. 17, don’t miss a class on Classic Bourbon Cocktails before reserving your spot in the Brunch Classics class on March 24.

Opens Jan. 20
Elmhurst

This exhibit of more than 40 paintings by Chicago-based artist Gertrude Abercrombie (1909-1977), called “the queen of the bohemian artists,” will open at Elmhurst Art Museum this weekend and run through March 4. Special programming like Music at the Museum/Elmhurst College Jazz Trio (Jan. 26 and Feb. 16) and Family Day (Feb. 3 and March 3) will take place throughout the exhibit’s run. The museum will also open the exhibit “In This House” in Mies van der Rohe’s McCormick House, next to the museum, on Jan. 20.
