Happy Halloween!
Whether you’ve been planning your costume for months or got creative at the last minute with whatever was in your house, show off your work at Pinstripes’ costume contest. You can also satisfy your Halloween hunger at DMK Burger & Fish with their milkshake loaded with sweet treats.
Although this weekend starts off with candy and costumes, there is more to do once that sugar coma passes. Enjoy two shows—one that will keep you laughing in the ‘burbs and one celebrating opera in Chicago with some Hollywood stars—or get some retail therapy.
Here are five things to do this weekend:
Halloween at DMK Burger & Fish
Up your Halloween game with $1 pumpkin and seasonal ale, a dozen burgers for $5 each, and the All Treats No Tricks Milkshake filled with M&M’s, Snickers, Butterfingers and Reece’s Pieces.
Halloween at Pinstripes
Trick-or-treat at Pinstripes all day on Halloween, or stop by at 8 p.m. for a costume contest. Prizes include a party for eight guests ($500 value) and a party for four guests ($250 value).
Handicap This!
Mike Berkson and Tim Wambach will share an honest message of acceptance and tolerance that’s still laugh-out-loud funny. You’ll leave feeling inspired and with more understanding for individuals with a variety of abilities.
Lyric’s 60th Anniversary Concert
Join Jane Lynch, Renee Fleming, Ramsey Lewis, The Second City cast and more stars as they celebrate 60 years of the Lyric Opera. Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of “60 Lyric Moments,” a commemorative book.
Artisan Market Streeterville 2014
This market is back and ready to give you a head start on your holiday shopping (it’s the first holiday market set in downtown Chicago this year). Before you go, get a sneak peek at the works of participating artists here.
2014 Trick-or-Treating Times
Before you leave your house in search of candy this Friday, make sure you know your town’s trick-or-treating times. You can find a list of hours here.
