Ravinia is finally back, and this weekend will not disappoint. On Friday, July 30, Brian McKnight will headline and on Saturday, July 31, groove to the best of the Seventies and Eighties during Yacht Rock Revue. The music flows through Sunday, with Michael Feinstein and Betty Buckley performing on Sunday, August 1. Running through August 15 at Oakbrook Center, Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel Exhibition showcases the artist’s renowned Sistine Chapel ceiling frescoes in a breathtaking journey. Paintings are reproduced photographically and displayed in their original size, allowing guests to take in the sheer size and detail of the infamous artwork, along with an audio guide. Calling all Disney fans, the main Mouse and his pals are taking over Pop-In@Nordstrom, a series of pop-up shopping experiences and exclusive merchandise rotating every four to six weeks at select Nordstrom locations. Pop-In@Nordstrom Welcomes Mickey & Friends features a curated collection of limited-edition pieces, plus handpicked and custom-made pre-owned and upcycled clothing, all starring the Sensational Six — Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto and Goofy. The shop launched July 23 online and at nine Nordstrom locations around the country, including the Michigan Avenue store.

In the shop you’ll find Mickey & Friends–themed apparel and accessories from top brands like Love Your Melon, Levi’s, and Crocs, home decor and lifestyle products from Barefoot Dreams, Basin Bath, Society6, and more, and phone accessories from Popsocket and CASETiFY.

The Obama Portraits

Head to the Art Institute of Chicago to view the famous official portraits of former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama commissioned by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Painted by Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, these groundbreaking paintings made history as the first African-American artists assigned to create official president portraits.
