World-renowned National Geographic wildlife photographers and conservationists Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen make their Chicago debut with an exhibition at Hilton | Asmus Contemporary’s new second gallery location at the Morgan Arts Complex in Bridgeport. “Origins” opens on Aug. 27 and will showcase a curated collection of Mittermeier and Nicklen’s stunning photography which continues to spark impassioned conversation and inspire action to help save our oceans and planet.

All Weekend: Human + Nature at Morton Arboretum

Morton Arboretum’s Human+Nature (pronounced Human Nature) outdoor art exhibition includes five sculptures by internationally renowned artist Daniel Popper. Intended to connect people with trees, Popper’s 15- to 26-foot-tall sculptures are exclusively for the Arboretum, and are spread out in various locations across its 1,700 acres, leading guests to areas they may not have explored before. Admission to the exhibit is included with your timed-entry ticket.

All Weekend: Taste of Greektown

Halsted St., West Town

The acclaimed culinary fest returns to West Town this weekend, which means you can delight in flaming saganaki, ouzo and more Greek favorites. In its 31st year, the festival will also include music from Greek bands, children’s activities and plenty of authentic food by Chicago’s Greektown mainstays.

All Weekend: White Sox vs. Chicago Cubs

Guaranteed Rate Field

The White Sox will take on the Chicago Cubs this weekend at Guaranteed Rate Field, the last CrossTown Classic of the season. Friday’s game is at 7:10 pm, Saturday’s is at 6:10pm and Sunday bats off at 1:10 pm.

Aug 29: Lakeside Pops Concert

Wallace Bowl, Gillson Park, Wilmette

Celebrate summer’s end with Evanston Symphony Orchestra during a free outdoor concert at Gillson Park in Wilmette. This family friendly event will last one hour and include favorites like Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
