Pumpkin Patches, Apple Picking and More Fall Fun Around Chicago and the Suburbs

Is there anything more perfect than spending a beautiful fall weekend apple or pumpkin picking? Here is a list of orchards and pumpkin patches around Chicago and the suburbs to help you make your plans. Just don’t forget to check the hours, Covid-19 safety procedures and the U-Pick status before you head out. 

All Seasons Orchard

This orchard offers two maze options: a short path for kiddos and a longer path for the experts. Apples can be picked on the weekends, and pumpkins are ready Sept. 18 through Halloween. 14510 Route 176, Woodstock

Didier Farms

Didier’s Pumpkinfest runs from the end of September through October. The fest offers hayrides, pony rides, camel rides, kiddie rides and more. 16678 W. Aptakisic Road, Lincolnshire

Dollinger Family Farm

This farm offers pumpkins, squash, gourds, mums, a corn maze, farm animals, a haunted barn and cemetery and more. Open 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily through Oct. 30. 7502 E. Hansel Road, Channahon

Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard

Admission at Goebbert’s includes multiple attractions, including a haunted house, pumpkin cannon, and pumpkin-eating dinosaur. Their Fall Festival is open Monday-Saturday through Halloween. 42W813 Reinking Road, Hampshire

Heinz Orchard

Visit this orchard for “pure apple picking fun starting Sept. 17 from 10am-4pm. Heinz did experience a smaller crop due to drought this summer, so make your plans early. 1050 Crest Road, Green Oaks

Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm

Experience farm life! Take a trip through the corn maze, tour the farm or visit the petting zoo and pumpkin farm. Open daily through Halloween. 13236 W. Townline Road, Waukegan

Kuipers Fam]ily Farm

Once you make your way through the haunted forest, enjoy a woodland walk, bale maze, and more fall activities. Apple varieties include Honey Crisp, Pink Luster, Cortland, Jonathon, Sweet Tango, Gala and more. 1N318 Watson Road, Maple Park

Odyssey Fun Farm

Odyssey offers a corn maze, cow train, corn cannon, zip lines, and more. The Fall season opens Sept. 25. 19111 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park

Not only can you pick the perfect pumpkin, but you can also take a ride down a 100-foot slide before getting lost in the world’s largest corn maze. 909 English Prairie Road, Spring Grove

This U-Pick apple orchard offers 29 varieties of apples, grown from more than 15,000 apple trees! They’ve also got summer and fall raspberries, pumpkins, giant pumpkins, gourds and squash. Open Monday-Saturday through Nov. 17. 15908 Hebron Road, Harvard

Siegel’s Pumpkin Farm

This family farm has a pumpkin fest with hayrides, barnyard animals, spooky shed, café and shop. Plus, there’s a corn maze and pony rides on weekends. Their Farm Pumpkin Fest starts Sept. 25th, and will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. 17250 S. Weber Road, Crest Hill
