Haven Youth Services has moved to a new location in Wilmette.

After a recent flood, Haven was forced to move into temporary offices. Subsequently, Haven found a new place to call home.

The beautiful new office is the same distance from New Trier and equally as accessible for students by train or bus. The move for Haven is an exciting chance to grow. Although the location has changed, Haven’s services will remain the same. Haven services all of New Trier Township including Glencoe, Kenilworth, Northfield, Wilmette, Winnetka and parts of Glenview.

Haven Youth and Family Services is recognized for achieving outstanding results through programs and services that focus on prevention and individual and family counseling. Haven offers a 24 hour crisis intervention service with help available 365 days a year and contracts with two youth shelters that provide emergency housing for teens if necessary. Licensed social workers provide confidential counseling free of charge for adolescents and their families.

Haven’s outreach workers have a daily presence at New Trier High School and Washburne Jr. High where they interact informally with students and refer them to school social workers or outside services if appropriate. Furthermore, Haven has an active Junior High Board, High School Youth Board, Young Adult Board, Board of Directors and Ambassador Board that works to build teen leadership skills and provides opportunities for them to work on community relations and social service projects.

Haven held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, October 8, at 8:30 a.m. The organization will also be holding a community Open House on Tuesday, November 3, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
