Chicago Symphony Orchestra Welcomes Kristin Chenoweth for Corporate Night

Kristin Chenoweth Joins the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for Corporate Night

Chicago businesspeople on June 20 will experience a night of dinner and entertainment at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s 27th annual Corporate Night, featuring Tony and Emmy award-winning singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth and members of the CSO, led by acclaimed Broadway musical director and conductor Mary Mitchell Campbell.

“This is a great opportunity for these corporations to come together and network socially,” says Mimi Duginger, president of the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which this year is hosting Corporate Night, along with Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association Trustee Thomas F. O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer at United Airlines. Corporate Night event co-chair for the League is Barbara Zutovsky.

The event is expected to raise some $1 million, with about 600 guests in attendance for the premium package that includes a cocktail reception and dinner. The CSO also sells tickets for the stand-alone concert, with ticket prices starting at $25 per ticket. As is the tradition, the CSO strives to bring in popular and contemporary entertainers to perform on the symphony stage. Past performers have included Melissa Etheridge, Sting, Elvis Costello, and George Benson, to name a few.

The event, which is part of the year-long 125th anniversary of the CSO, “keeps our corporate sponsors involved with us and the programs always appeal to a broad group of people so everyone who comes can have a great time,” Zutovsky says. “It’s the combination of the artists feeding off of our wonderful orchestra. Kristin is trained in all areas of music, including opera, and it will be our orchestra that supports her.”

Chenoweth, who has appeared everywhere from the Metropolitan Opera to primetime television, will perform her greatest Broadway and popular musical hits. Chenoweth is best known for roles including Cunégonde in “Candide,” Glinda the Good Witch from “Wicked,” Rosetta from the animated film “Tinkerbell,” and a returning guest star role on the television show “Glee.”
