Networking & Registration: 4:00pm-4:30pm
Program: 4:30pm-5:30pm

Hailed as “a milestone in the #MeToo movement,” the ‘Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act;’ was signed into law on March 3, 2022. The law, which was first introduced by Congresswoman Cheri Bustos, grants essential protection to the hundreds of thousands of individuals who experience sexual assault and harassment and were previously subject to an arbitration clause in a contract. This law allows sexual assault and harassment survivors to pursue the legal remedy that works best for them.

This has the potential to be much more than just a women’s issue though. Its passage opens the door to other bills ending forced arbitration when it comes to issues like gender and racial diversity or pay equity. Join Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and the rest of our panelists for a conversation with moderator Christine Hefner as they discuss what the new law means, its implications for you and your organization, and its potential impact on forced arbitration in the future.

This program is presented in partnership with the HRMAC Institute at the Executives’ Club of Chicago. The HRMAC Institute comprises Chicagoland’s largest and most vibrant community of professionals who are passionate about talent and building the best organizations of the future.
