For over 3 generations, the Jordan Family camps, Towering Pines and Woodland have offered a traditional overnight camp experiences for children ages 7-16. Every two weeks campers design their program of 6 activities a day (see web). Counselors provide instruction, teach safety practices and inspire a love of the challenge. Free play is encouraged in an atmosphere of cooperative group interaction. The result is a feeling of worth and accomplishment that has a major impact on a child’s future success in life. “Low camper to counselor ratio provides a feeling of family; 90% of our staff were campers themselves.” Other special programs include Environmental Education (featured in National Geographic), Indian Lore, Camping, Fishing, Skin Diving, Photography, Teambuilding, Ropes Courses, and Wilderness Trips.
