Local fundraising and grant-making nonprofit DIFFA/Chicago (The Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) Auxiliary Board hosted their premiere Light the Night White Party on Sept. 9 at Sterling Bay in Chicago to applaud advancements in the fight against HIV/AIDS and to raise funds and awareness.
Dressed to impress in their swankiest white garb, 163 design and business pros took over the rooftop to sip signature cocktails, nosh on lite bites from Phil Stefani Signature Events and enjoy a live performance by the dynamic duo Simple Remedy. KOVAL featured a whiskey tasting table and Cambria served as the event’s presenting sponsor. Other notable sponsors include D.L. Couch as a Silver Sponsor, and Brookside Veneers, Ltd., Business Office Systems and Wintrust Chicago as Platinum Sponsors. Peter Field Custom, Soho House Chicago and KOVAL also provided raffle prizes.
The luminous event raised a gross total of $15,687 through ticket sales, a raffle featuring “light” and “white” theme-centric lighting fixtures from Lightology and a live auction where lanterns designed by local designers from top Chicago designers/showrooms were auctioned off. Chicago-area service agencies that provide assistance, education and outreach to those who are HIV positive, living with AIDS or at-risk for infection will benefit directly from the event’s proceeds.
