The Top 7 Beauty Trends for Spring 2016 - Make It Better

Spring is a great time to update your wardrobe and adopting a new beauty look to complement the latest fashions. From feminine ponytails to sun-kissed skin, here are our favorite must-try spring beauty trends in 2016.

Bright Lips

Every designer’s runway featured models with can’t-miss lips in shades of vibrant pink and red. The intense color is most flattering with minimal makeup on the rest of your face. Try YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Le Fuchsia or Le Rouge.

A More Interesting Ponytail

If you have longer hair, this is the easiest beauty trend to replicate. Both Oscar de la Renta and Dior featured models with tied-back tresses secured with a black ribbon instead of an elastic, evoking a girly, youthful vibe. Gwyneth Paltrow flaunted the look at the InStyle Awards when she paired her dramatic black gown with a black velvet ribbon tied around her ponytail.

Updated French Manicure

Nail art is still on trend, but this spring you’ll see modernized versions of the French manicure. The classic white-on-white mani is updated with bright hues along the tips. Get the look by painting a thin strip of color on the tops of nude nails. It’s edgy and perfect for the change in season.

Add Fringe

If you’re game for trying something new, consider face-framing bangs. Star stylist Chris McMillan recently cut bangs for Girls actress Allison Williams, instantly refreshing her look. Heavy bangs dominated the runways at countless shows including Vera Wang, Rebecca Minkoff and Alexander Wang.

Colored Eyeliner

Have fun playing up your eyes with a bright shade of liner. Colored eyeliner, specifically bright blue, was all the rage at Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs and Monique Lhuillier. The look channels the 70s, with the decade’s fashions also trending this spring. Read more tips on wearing colored eyeliner at every age.

Go Beachy

Although it’s not beach weather just yet, fake it with a faux glow. Bronze and earth tones dotted the cheeks and eyelids of the models at Derek Lam and Michael Kors. Try eyeshadow, bronzer and blush in shades like amber or gold to warm up with your face without the sun exposure. Use a cream luminizer like NARS Illuminator on your cheekbones and under the arches of your eyebrows for dewy, ethereal skin.

Rose Gold Nails

At Reem Acra’s show, one couldn’t help but notice the metallic sheen on the models’ nails. To get the look, try Deborah Lippmann in Glamorous Life or Essie in Penny Talk. The shade is neutral and works with all skin tones.
