There are so many reasons to go for a run. It’s a surefire way to improve your overall fitness — quickly burning large amounts of calories, increasing your endurance, and boosting your heart health. It’s also incredibly efficient and cost-effective since it requires very minimal equipment, unlike other forms of exercise. And, of course, it releases endorphins that both boost your mood and relieve your stress.
Another great reason to hit the trails? Charity. This month in Chicago, there are so many opportunities to run for a cause. Not only will your reap the benefits of going for a jog, but you’ll also support an important cause by donating to it and raising awareness for it. Both seasoned pros and beginners alike can participate in these runs and walks (beginners, here’s what you need to know about preparing for your first 5K). Lace up your sneakers and get ready to get moving!
